Retailers are waiting for government guidelines regarding safety in our selling spaces. While we are looking for specifics, Worksafe BC has released a guide for retailers. The link is below.

However the #1 question I get asked is what do we do with items in our shops that are high touch. Products that range from greeting cards to books, to plush toys and clothing.  Even with the use of UV machine or devices to disinfect everything in a room, as soon as someone touches one item, it is considered contaminated. Just like shopping in grocery stores where customers touch a lot of things, placing signage cards that remind people to wash or disinfect their hands often and avoid touching the face is key until such time an effective vaccine is developed to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Of course, other measures such as masks and face shields as well as plexi barriers can only help with preventing the spread.
