Why Triangles Work

Many of you have already either worked with me or taken my seminars and workshops. In this case you already know that I love triangles not only because they are a basic shape anyone can apply to any display, but also because they draw customers’ eyes to the items one wishes to sell. They bring movement to an otherwise static display by drawing the eye upward, down or back. While mass merchandised products work fine horizontally, I use triangles, half triangles or angled lines as a shape for all my primary and secondary focal displays. Gets the shoppers to buy majority of the time!
In this particular window display I saw while shopping in Vegas, I like how the backdrop pattern draws one’s eyes down to the main display. It also frames the apex of the triangle. Subtle yet effective!
