I just posted in my July 6th blog the perils of product intensity and how they relate to both business and product credibility. This time, I would like to point out that not only is this display sending the WRONG message, it also disappoints shoppers. While shopping for casual dinnerware, I saw the square ones to the top right corner. I thought that would be perfect for my Asian inspired display for a client. I so hate it when expectations are set, only to be disappointed. I was hoping that at least the store may have some in the backroom. However that isn’t even the case. I was informed by the sales associate that only a few pieces arrived and that they were having problems with customers wanting to buy the items but they simply did not have enough stock to meet the demand. Pretty telling isn’t it?
